Sheffield Hallam University visit 17/06/2010
I enjoyed the work from the students of Sheffield Hallam. I found that they had very simple pieces of work but also very creative. I enjoyed looking at students work who attended at chesterfield college and I also liked looking at other peoples techniques and style of creative imagery. I also enjoyed the animation students had made some was very basic and simple but they was still really well performed where others was quite advanced such as the stop motion video of someone creating a graphic design onto a surf board I thought looking through the students sketchbook aswell gave me a clear idea on what they are expecting people to do at a university level of graphics. The other exhibition we went to further into sheffield was very interesting. It had a lot of well quality photography based work which I found rather interesting. Then the final one we went to was ok but the only thing that was really interesting was the wall of hair that you walked through and the big chain of paper, I liked because it shown that it taken a lot of work and dedication and also must of consumed a lot of time devloping. So overall the exhibitions was really good and a fun experience to get a headstart on what sort of work is expected at a university level. I am thinking about sheffield hallam as one of my options to go to. This is because I know sheffield really well and it has many ways of transport to get there via car bus and train. I would also like to go there due to then I would still be able to live at home instead of having to move away from family. Sheffield has many resturants and fast food places and is also very well known for shops the main attraction for shopping in sheffield is medowhall the biggest shopping center in sheffield. Sheffield Also obtains a good night life for students . Sheffield is a really good choice for me due to not needing to worry about accomidation and food bills and going to sheffield hallam It would be saving me a huge amount of money. The university is based in a nice area because its next to the city center and its also next to the train station and the bus depo. I met some of the students there and they are very friendly and very useful on giving information out on their opinions of sheffield and the course they are doing and also had good reccomendation to attend sheffield hallam next year. Sheffield also has a lot of entertainment values such as paintballing laser questing cinema bowling arcades and they also have well known musicans playing in the area at places like o2 leadmill plug and sheffield arena. Many performances have been performed in sheffield from musicans to famous comedians and even wrestling.
